We are so lucky that for the first time, we have a fellow mom as our guest blogger! Lisa has somehow figured out the balance between taking care of herself and her family which is so important. Carving out a little time each week for ourselves is so important. So, with Mother’s Day approaching and summer just around the corner, we think that a guide to the greatest Main Line workout spots will be a great motivator to get started or try something new.
Hello fellow moms. I don’t know about you, but I am getting ready for some bikini beach days. Lace up your sneakers and grab some H2O to learn more about the hottest fitness classes on the Main Line to get you ready for summer!
At Focus Fitness Main Line in Bryn Mawr you can swing in the air during their aerial yoga class. I enjoyed practicing my balance throughout the poses with the trapeze. My favorite parts might have been hanging upside down and taking savasana at the end of class while being nestled into a cocoon with the black fabric! Pump up the volume in their hot yoga boot camp class that really gets your heart rate up! You may be practicing your sun salutations but your body is also moving from burpees to mountain climbers and pushups to handstands! I worked hard and my abs were sore but, I can’t wait to go back for more!
Spin your wheels over to SOULCYCLE in Ardmore for a very sweaty full body workout. The teachers are enthusiastic and the block rockin’ beats will get you up and out of the saddle for those steep hills. To get more of an upper body challenge they use hand weights to mix up your ride. Peddle to the meddle!
Dana Hot Yoga
Lengthen your body over at Dana Hot Yoga in Bala Cynwyd for a challenging workout that will leave you begging for more! Bring a towel and get ready for their hot vinyasa classes which offer fast or slower paced flows to challenge your muscles. I love that the instructors can give you modifications if you aren’t quite ready for some of the poses. I always leave feeling very relaxed and strong.
Bulldog Yoga in Villanova offers different kinds of yoga classes Activate, Invigorate and Exhilarate, most of which are heated to 92 degrees. The classes are always fun and the music is motivating. On the days you can’t get to the studio, you can access some of their playlists online for an at home practice. They offer a few lunch hour classes which is great for those working moms who want to get a good workout in.
Reach your legs up to new limits at Pure Barre in Ardmore. Using a ballet barre, bands, weights and a ball your body will shake as you test your limits! The teachers are encouraging as they guide you through exercises and check on your form. I love using the mirror to watch my movements and check for proper alignment and posture.
See you at the studio,
