Crescent City Books in Order with Summaries
Ready to read the Crescent City books in order? I’ve got you covered on the proper way to read them – which includes NOT reading them before you finish one of Sarah J Maas’s other series first! Read on to learn in what order to tackle this book series.
I’ve been compulsively reading Sarah J Maas’s books since I first read the entire ACOTAR trilogy in one week. Crescent City is an urban fantasy completely unlike ACOTAR and I was intimated by the size of these books at first. Each book is 800+ pages!
This series is seriously High Fantasy at its finest with loads of characters, intricate plots, and epic fight sequences. If you aren’t sure whether or not to read the series, let me assure you – it’s worth it! I stayed up until 3 am finishing book 1!

Plot
House of Earth and Blood is the first in a new series by Sarah J. Maas, of ACOTAR fame. It’s an urban fantasy – and tells the story of Bryce Quinlan and her bodyguard, Hunt Athalar. Strange things are happening in Lunathion and together, Bryce and Hunt are trying to uncover the source of murders happening around Crescent City. If only because then they will be permitted to get away from one another.
But Bryce’s hunt for answers is deeper, she knows that what’s going on now is connected to her best friend, Danika’s murder two years prior. This wild ride was filled with skyscrapers, cellphones, and video surveillance, but also fairies, werewolves, angels, demons, and witches with history and power.
Why Kirsten loves it
My initial turn-off of too many names/places/tribes/species types was quickly overcome by the insane world-building and a story that kept me up until 3 a.m. I fell in love with Bryce and Hunt’s romance, the epic world of the Crescent City series, and the many breadcrumbs and clues SJM scattered throughout this story.
Why Jackie loves it
I loved this world-building fantasy. Unlike so many of the other EPIC series, this one is set in an urban setting which makes it unique to any other series I have read. The characters are fantastic in their imperfect, but relatable ways.

Why Kirsten loves it
Sarah J. Maas’s steamy, action-packed storytelling is amazing in this story and that ending. Fans of Sarah J Maas’s books will be SCREAMING during the epilogue!

More info: Crescent City #3
Spice Rating:💋💋💋💋

Plot
After the events of the last book, Bryce is no longer in Midgard – she’s in a completely different world with characters SJM readers know and love, but who Bryce isn’t sure if she can trust. Meanwhile, back home, Hunt and Ruhn, are being held captive and being tortured for the plot to bring down the Asteri.
Hunt is desperate to find Bryce and she is desperate to return. Can they reunite and bring down the Asteri once and for all? Ithan and Tharion’s stories are also explored as well.
Why Kirsten loves it
There are lots of perspectives in this epic story but it feels cohesive! The ending wasn’t quite as satisfying as I wanted it to be, but that’s because I think there are more books coming in this series.
