14 Authors Chosen by Multiple Celebrity Book Clubs

Kirsten and I love celebrity book clubs and are curious about who gets “dibs” on which book! We wanted to do a deep dive into authors chosen by multiple celebrity book clubs. We love to look at which authors overlap, who chose the author first, and whether there are any authors chosen by more than two celebrity book clubs!

Celebrity book clubs have become a driving force for book sales in the industry. Kirsten and I were curious about authors chosen by multiple celebrity book clubs. What do they have in common? While there is currently only one author chosen by multiple celebrity book clubs (ie more than 2), there are numerous authors chosen by two celebrity book clubs. I have gone into more detail below and noted any trends we have noticed.

We noticed that the biggest overlap is between Reese and Jenna, with six authors chosen by both of these powerhouse women. AND, three authors were chosen by Reese first, and three by Jenna first.

Oprah has no overlap with Reese or GMA in authors chosen
Oprah only has overlap with the Read with Jenna book club
Only ONE author has been chosen by three celebrity book clubs, and that is the great Taylor Jenkins Reid.
Ann Patchett, while chosen by two celebrity book clubs, has been chosen three times.
