What to Expect Each Month

Every month the Beyond the Bookends book club will have two monthly Zoom meetings. The first will take place in the middle of the month (during the day) and hosted by Jackie and Kirsten. These chats will take a look at the month ahead. Kirsten and I will be reviewing upcoming releases as well as sharing what we are reading and loving. We are always open to suggestions from you too! We love to hear what books you are enjoying.

The last Wednesday of the month will be our monthly author book club. We will be hosting these meetings starting at 7:30 p.m. EST. For the first 30 minutes, we will break into groups to discuss the book and questions for the author. Starting at 8:00 p.m., there will be a moderated chat with the author of the month.

You will also receive exclusive opportunities to win annotated books, ARC, and signed books throughout the month.

Additionally, each book club selection will have a corresponding reading guide. This is your companion to the book for the month to help you prepare for the book club. If you don’t get a chance to finish the book, this companion is perfect to get you up to speed. We would not want you to have to miss an author chat!

January 2nd – Look for the giveaway winner of an annotated copy of Charlotte Walsh Likes to Win to be announced. Members are automatically entered!
January 15 12:00 p.m. EST – Kirsten and I will be hosting Looking Beyond which will cover February’s upcoming releases, our current reads, and arc giveaway announcements
January 29 7:30 p.m. EST – Book Club with Jo Piazza, author of Charlotte Walsh Likes to Win.

Will the Zoom calls be recorded?

Yes! The zoom calls will be recorded and uploaded so you can rewatch or catch them after they are live. You can access the videos whenever you wish through the member portal!

How many Zoom meetings will you have in a month?

2! Mid-month look for Jackie and I to host a conversation about upcoming book releases. We will also have the end-of-month book club discussion with the author.

How does the book club relate to the reading challenge?

When we can, we will choose a book that fulfills the 2025 reading challenge or a seasonal reading prompt. This way you can play along without the pressure of reading too many books each month.
