Once again, I’ve rounded up the books that will be chosen as October 2025 book club picks by the Reese Witherspoon, Oprah, Read with Jenna, and GMA Book Clubs. These have NOT yet been officially released (as of now, they are all being announced on October 7) but I am fairly confident in our intel.

October 2025 Reese Witherspoon Book Club Spoiler
Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club, Hello Sunshine, was the first of the modern celebrity book clubs to catch on in recent years. Started in 2017, her list features thrillers, romances, historical fiction, YA, non-fiction, and modern fiction.
In a very controversial decision, Reese decided to not pick an October book, instead opting to take her readers along for her book tour of her first fiction novel, Gone Before Goodbye.

Plot
Reese and Harlan have teamed up to write a thriller novel about Maggie, an Army combat surgeon who is now without a license. On the brink of total failure, Maggie receives an offer from a former colleague who needs a skilled nurse to watch a VIP patient post-op. When the patient disappears under her care, she needs to become a fugitive until she can find the missing person.

October 2025 Read With Jenna Book Club Spoiler
Jenna Bush Hager started her book club on the Today Show back in the spring of 2019. They are often more literary than Reese’s picks and cover various thought-provoking topics.

Each sister is struggling with something in their personal life – being Queer in a Catholic family, divorce, and an unexpected bump in an otherwise strong marriage. But they are also all dealing with the lasting effects of their brother, Topher’s, decision to end his own life.

Filled with heart and grace, it was wonderful to see this family address their issues and strengthen their relationships with one another in the process. October 2025 Good Morning America Book Club Spoiler
GMA’s answer to Read with Jenna was to host their own celebrity book club. This one launched in the Fall of 2019 and it’s probably the best one of the bunch.

Oprah doesn’t release her book club picks in the same way as the rest of the celebrity book clubs. She picks them when she likes – on no timetable. Her picks often span multiple months for reading and discussion as well. The October 2025 Oprah Book Club pick is below.

Plot
In near-future Kolkata, impacted by flooding and famine from climate change, Ma, her father, and her 2-year-old daughter are migrating to Ann Arbor to meet up with Ma’s husband. They board the plane to safety and then find that Ma’s purse with their immigration documents has been stolen.
Over the course of the week, Ma tries to track the thief while feeding her family when little food is available, while we also hear from Boomba, the thief, whose own desperation drove him to the terrible act.
