I was not even halfway through when I told Kirsten this book needed to be the August 2025 Beyond the Bookends Book Club pick. The Correspondent book club questions below will be the perfect starting point for your book club.

I know that it can be difficult to think of book club questions that capture themes and major plot points of a book. That is why I made this post. I wanted you to be able to read the book and think about your feelings while I provided you with The Correspondent Book Club questions.

  6. Sybil tells Harry Landy that she is going blind and asks him to keep it a secret. She also confides in him throughout the book. Why do you think she did that?
  7. Throughout the book, there is correspondence with Sybil’s gardening club. What is the significance of these emails?
  8. Mr. Lubek and Mick are both love interests for Sybil throughout the book. What did you think about her learning to date again?
  9. What did you think of Evans’s portrayal of grief and loss? Do you think this formatting is conducive to an accurate portrayal?
