Once again, I’ve rounded up the books that will be chosen as March 2026 book club picks by the Reese Witherspoon, Oprah, Read with Jenna, and GMA Book Clubs. These have NOT yet been officially released (as of now, they are all being announced on March 3), but I am fairly confident in our intel.

March 2026 Reese Witherspoon Book Club Spoiler

Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club, Hello Sunshine, was the first of the modern celebrity book clubs to catch on in recent years. Started in 2017, her list features thrillers, romances, historical fiction, YA, non-fiction, and modern fiction.

Lady Tremaine

Genre: Historical Fiction

This is one Cinderella retelling you’ve never read before. In this dark reimagining of Cinderella’s story, Lady Tremaine takes center stage in a non-magical version that reminded me of Ever After (the Drew Barrymore movie of my dreams!). It depicted the rise and fall of Lady Tremaine’s fortunes and the reasoning behind many of her decisions.

While this story is devoid of magic, the dark themes explored included what parents will sacrifice for their children, corruption of power, and the darker side of aristocratic life.

Sexual Assault

First of all, I love a villain retelling because the story is always so different when told from the bad guy’s perspective, and Lady Tremaine had me firmly on her side the entire time. I adored how dark this version of Cinderella got. It was incredibly thought-provoking to have the story told and examined with the darker plot twists. It was an enjoyable listen, and the audiobook narrator brought the story to life. #Gifted by MacMillan Audio

Elle Harlow is a folk singer who reached the height of her fame in 1973. After a performance at the Grand Ole Opry, she disappears. Two decades later, when a meteor strikes her small town, Marijohn Shaw, also a folk singer, uncovers information linking her to Elle. Suddenly, Marijohn questions everything she thought she knew about herself.

Told in three parts, Elle and Marijohn each get their own narratives before their stories dovetail for the final portion of the book. From Nashville to Appalachia, this immersive story is filled with tales of the music industry in the 1970s and early 1990s. It’s a story of loss and redemption, and the fight within us all to be seen for who we truly are.

I was captivated by Marijohn and Elle’s individual stories, but when they merged, I was swept into their world. You must listen to this story as an audiobook because all the original songs peppered throughout the book are sung with a musical accompaniment. I felt as if I was a fly on the wall watching two extraordinary artists come into their own.

I think this will be the runaway hit of the summer, because it’s a perfect balance of thought-provoking themes and imaginative storytelling. I’d also like to respectfully request an adaptation of this story! #gifted by Macmillan Audio and Celadon.

It’s another dragon YA story – this time the first in a duology – for lovers of Fourth Wing and Red Queen. This romantasy is about Éadha, a servant with a rare magical talent, who wants to save Ionáin, the heir to the ruling family, from embarrassment because he has no magic.

She decides to pass her magic off as his, and so they are both sent to the magical academy. Can they keep up the ruse or will they even want to once they learn the dark side to possessing such power?

I love this YA dragon story for lovers of Fourth Wing and Red Queen. I am also obsessed with duologies recently. There is so much packed into the story. It feels like it moves quickly and I love the strong female character, which is finally trending in books over the last number of years.

March 2026 Oprah Book Club Spoiler

Oprah doesn’t release her book club picks in the same way as the rest of the celebrity book clubs. She picks them when she likes – on no timetable. Her picks often span multiple months for reading and discussion as well.

Oprah picked Kin at the very end of February, so we are hard-pressed to believe there will be a March 2026 Oprah book club pick, but she’s surprised us before. If that changes, we will update this post, but for now, we are considering Kin as the March read as well.
