The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood

Olive Smith is a Ph.D. student who does not believe in her ability to be in love. When her best friend develops a crush on someone she dated briefly, she decides to kiss the first man she sees to prove she is over him.

That one kiss happens to be with THE Adam Carlsen, an academic genius, who is also very standoffish. The two decide to fake-date and what starts as pretend, becomes something more- for Olive.

I loved this fake dating book/office romance novel that is also a perfect example of the grumpy sunshine trope. It has a well-earned spot on its list of the best romance novels of all time.

Love Theoretically

Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood

Any romance novel by Ali Hazelwood has become a must-read so, it is no surprise that I jumped at the chance to read her newest STEMinist romcom!

Elsie has learned to live two lives; an adjunct professor in theoretical physicist by day and a fake girlfriend the rest of the time (to make ends meet). She has also learned to read people and become the Elsie that they want her to be.

When she interviews for her dream job as a theoretical physics professor at MIT, her two worlds collide. How? I don’t want to ruin the surprise. Elsie learns what she really wants an how to ask for it in a delightful and charming way.

This steamy romance novel is a must-read from our ultimate list of beach reads. It’s one of my picks for the best romance books of 2023 too! If you are looking for books for summer, this one is for you.

She also has her reasons for going into Were territory and as long as she can stay under the radar, she should be able to stay alive. After all, the last Vampyre/ Were marriage ended in a deadly and bloody battle. This paranormal romance is SPICY. If Ali Hazelwood’s last books made you blush, this one will give your face a sunburn.

Violence, kidnapping

I feel like this is an adult version of Twilight if Bella fell in love with Jacob. Anyone who is “Team Jacob” will love this book. But more than that, I loved the depth of the characters and the intricacy of the plot without it feeling overwhelming.

Why We Love This Book: If you love Ali Hazelwood Books, this pick from the spring 2024 book releases will not disappoint you. It is a very steamy pick, even when compared to Hazelwood’s other romances. Her books always depict women in STEM and we love a strong female protagonist.

Reviews of Ali Hazelwood Books (Novellas)

under one roof

Under One Roof by Ali Hazelwood

This is the first book of three in a series of steminist novellas. These stories center around three friends Mara, Sadie, and Hannah, all women in stem who find love without looking for it.

All three women have distinct personalities and a strong friendship. I love how when you get to know a character, you will see them again in the other two books.

In this story, Mara has moved into Helena’s house after she left is to Mara in her will. The catch? She only owned half the house and her nephew, Liam, also lives there. While at first, she detests him, something about him is growing on her. This is a forced-proximity romance that is just too good.

Stuck with you

Stuck With You by Ali Hazelwood

When Sadie is a civil engineer who gets stuck in an New York elevator with the man who broke her heart. She thought that he was a different man before he sabotaged her and broke her heart.

Now, she has no choice but to figure out what went wrong and confront him. I love this second novella. Even though these books are meant to be read in the order they were published, you can read these in any order you want and you will still enjoy the story just as much.

Below Zero

Below Zero by Ali Hazelwood

Even though I knew I was supposed to read these Ali Hazelwood books in order, this was the first one that I read.

This story is about Hannah, a NASA aerospace engineer who finds herself stuck ad injured in an Arctic research station. Throughout the story, you will hear about her friends Mara and Sadie who, if you read the Ali Hazelwood books in order, you will know from the other two novellas.

If, like me, you read this book first, you will want to get to know the other characters as well. You will not be missing anything in this book.

Loathe to Love you

Loathe to Love You by Ali Hazelwood

All three novellas by Ali Hazelwood are in this book. Under One Roof, Stuck With You, and Below Zero are now all in one place with this book. If you want to make sure that you are reading these books in order, then this is the perfect way to do that.
