Once again, I’ve rounded up the books that will be chosen as December 2025 book club picks by the Reese Witherspoon, Oprah, Read with Jenna, and GMA Book Clubs. These have NOT yet been officially released (as of now, they are all being announced on November 25 and December 2), but I am fairly confident in our intel.

Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club, Hello Sunshine, was the first of the modern celebrity book clubs to catch on in recent years. Started in 2017, her list features thrillers, romances, historical fiction, YA, non-fiction, and modern fiction.

Why Kirsten loves it
I’ve been looking for a royal novel that was as good as The Royal We for almost a decade, and luckily, I finally found it! I loved that this story wasn’t a romance but was rather a revealing look at life within the palace walls. It’s clear that Rebecca knows her stuff – and it was fun to figure out which characters were inspired by real-life individuals.

December 2025 Read With Jenna Book Club Spoiler
Jenna Bush Hager started her book club on the Today Show back in the spring of 2019. They are often more literary than Reese’s picks and cover various thought-provoking topics.

Plot
We love this classic love story. This love story has everything you could want. Elizabeth Bennet is a smart and stubborn woman who was ahead of her time. With five Bennet girls, one of them must marry well to support the other sisters.
Why Kirsten loves it
There are so many new and wonderful adaptations of this novel, that we did an entire post on it. And you don’t want to miss the other Jane Austen adaptations in the post as well. Austen is a master of romances and this book is the original enemies-to-lovers novel! It’s my favorite of all the Jane Austen books.
Adaptations
If you are a fan of the book you probably have very strong feelings about which adaptation you like more – the 2005 Keira Knightley version or the 1995 version with Colin Firth. Well in 2025, filming started on the lastest adaptation which is becoming a series for Netflix. The cast includes Emma Corrin (Elizabeth Bennet), Jack Lowden (Mr. Darcy), and Olivia Colman (Mrs. Bennet). Rufus Sewell, Freya Mavor, Jamie Demetriou, Daryl McCormack, Rhea Norwood, Siena Kelly, and Louis Partridge are in the supporting cast.

December 2025 Good Morning America Book Club Spoiler
GMA’s answer to Read with Jenna was to host their own celebrity book club. This one launched in the Fall of 2019, and it’s probably the best one of the bunch.

Plot

When she gets a hot tip that a desirable home is coming onto the market soon, she tries to ingratiate herself with the homeowners. Determined not to let this house slip through her fingers, her antics become more and more unhinged, putting her job and her marriage in jeopardy. But Margo is playing to win, even if she has to break some laws to come out on top.

Fans of the hit book adaptation, You, will rejoice because there is a new favorite anti-hero in town! I couldn’t get enough of Margo’s increasingly desperate antics to win her dream house – the story was just too delicious to put down! I also sampled it on audio, and the narrator does the BEST voice for this character. I was rooting for her to come out on top and you will be rooting for her too! #gifted by MacMillan Audio

There’s Always Next Year

Plot
Andy has her whole world turned upside-down on New Year’s Eve when she pukes on her crush, ruins her phone, and her car is stolen. She is determined to save her family’s business, but her life is in shambles. She also cannot quite understand the feelings she has for the new girl next door.
Dominique is an influencer trying to secure his future with a big brand deal. When he runs into his former BFF, feelings emerge. Can he become a star without deserting the ones he really loves? He has never been able to hide from his cousin Andy, even if he does hide from himself.
Why Kirsten likes it
I thought this story was an interesting take on gentrification that I wasn’t expecting from a holiday romance. As a parent, I was side-eyeing some of the characters’ choices, but overall, I really enjoyed the character development and the dual romances.

Oprah doesn’t release her book club picks in the same way as the rest of the celebrity book clubs. She picks them when she likes – on no timetable. Her picks often span multiple months for reading and discussion as well.
