I am so excited to read the November 2024 book releases. This is a list of the books Kirsten and I cannot wait to read.
Every month, Kirsten and I scour the internet to find the books we are the most excited to read. We look through publishers’ lists, our personal lists of advanced reader copies (ARCs), as well as a few other sources. I cannot give away all our secrets, can I?

Why Kirsten likes it
I found the story to be interesting but I didn’t love any of the characters. I respected Natalia’s drive and talent but found her to be cold and distant. Similarly, the two men she is interwoven between felt one-dimensional. That technical side and mental resilience it takes to be a ballerina were wonderful to read, however.

Filming on an isolated Italian island, the tension they face as on-screen rivals takes a turn when they become embroiled in a deadly scandal and are forced to flee for their lives.
It’s trains, trucks, and boats for these two as they need to put their differences aside to work together and alert the authorities to the corruption on the island.
Why Kirsten loves it
What a fun romp through old Hollywood! I honestly pictured the entire plot of this book as an old black-and-white movie appropriate to the time this was set.
The leaders were perfectly bitchy in whip-smart dialogue reminiscent of the Golden Age of Hollywood flicks. I loved watching these rivals tear each other down before turning into allies and close friends. I was rooting for them and you will be too!

Christmas with the Queen

As their paths cross over various Christmases, the spark between them grows. But Olive is holding back a secret that could change Jack’s life forever.
Why Kirsten likes it
I loved the premise of this story, but a few of the Christmases seemed a little unnecessary. It was pleasant to check in on the friends – and the Queen – each year, but some of the years were filler because of the layout. Still, I liked how their love story progressed in a realistic timeline – I just wish Olive had been more communicative sooner.

The Sunflower House

Why Jackie loves it
If you love the show Ted Lasso as much as I do, this book is a must-read. I am still lamenting the end of the show, the last episode of which had me bawling hysterically. This book gave me everything I was hoping for- it brought me back to the magic of the show and the perfect timing of the premier. #gifted

Why Kirsten loves it
American Royals is one of my favorite series so I knew I needed to read McGee’s first historical fiction story and boy was it a doozy! I felt for each of these ladies and their various love triangles… or hexagons? Honestly, their romances and potential matches overlapped so much I’m not sure what shape they would make in the end!
I’ve long been a fan of historical fiction, but McGee made this story feel like the Gossip Girl version of real events. It got juicy and fun and damn would it make an excellent show! It’s Bridgerton for teens and I can’t recommend it more highly! The sequel is gonna be just as great!
