What is The Heroes of Olympus About?
Percy is the main character in this series along with 6 other characters. In this series, each chapter is told from the point of view of different characters. Percy and Jason are two of the main characters and both of them have lost their memories. They are sent to two different camps (Greek and Roman) where they make friends and enlist their friends to help them on their quests.

Plot
Camp Half-Blood has received an oracle that proclaims seven of the strongest demigods must come together to stop Gaea from awakening. Jason, the son of Zeus has just arrived at camp but Percy is missing. Nobody knows where he went and everyone at camp Half-Blood is panicking. Without Percy, they will doomed and Gaea will destroy everything (as one of the most powerful Gods).
Why Jackie loves it
I love that every character has their own point of view in different chapters. It helps to see the characters in a multi-dimensional way and allows them to come off the page.

The Sun of Neptune

Plot
Percy is back! Yay. He is in a new camp with the Romans and immediately starts creating havoc the way only Percy can. He becomes the leader of “the other camp”, Camp Jupiter, after being there for three months and is put on a quest with Frank (son of Mars) and Hazel (the daughter of Pluto) to unchain Thanatos, the God of Death.
We also reconnect with all the new characters from the first book in this series

This is my favorite Percy book. I am so glad to see Percy and all his friends. The characters are all well written

The Mark of Athena

Plot
Percy, Hazel and Frank from Camp Jupiter meet up with Jason, Piper, and Leo from Camp Half Blood. They are six of the seven powerful demigods needed to stop Gaea. Once they have their seventh, they will travel towards the gates of the underworld.
They must figure out why the monsters are not dying even though they should be. They are on a quest to find the Doors of Death.
Why Jackie loves it
This is a transition book. We are moving the story from books 1 & 2 to books 4 & 5. This story is the connection between the two halves of the series. The ending of this book is a cliffhanger that sets up the next two books.

The House of Hades

Plot
Percy and Annabeth are trapped in the underworld together and have to find a way to get out. The rest of the Seven who are above, on the surface, are trying to save Percy and Annabeth as well. The only way Percy and Annabeth can escape the Doors of Death is if they have someone fighting for them on the other side.
They also know that they have to seal the doors so Gaea cannot escape but they cannot seal the door until Percy and Annabeth have been freed.
Why Jackie loves it
Percy and Annabeth are together for most of the book so it is interesting to see how their relationship develops

The Blood of Olympus

Plot
The seven are reunited and are on a quest to stop Gaea’s awakening. Octavian is leading the Roman camp to Camp Half Blood where there is sure to be a war if the seven do not make it back in time
Why Jackie loves it
It is the epic finale of my favorite Percy Jackson book. It is a solid book with a satisfying resolution to the series.

There are a lot of Percy Jackson books and picking the order to read then can be daunting. After reading all the books in the world of Percy Jackson, I recommend reading Heroes of Olympus AFTER you read Percy Jackson and the Olympians and The Kane Chronicles
