This is an adorable YA romance that had my tea-loving heart at the title but, the story was sweet and had me turning the pages. But fair warning, you will be hungry while reading this book about tea.

Lila is leaving Miami to spend the summer in England with her mom’s best friend as a way to help Lila’s mental health. With the unexpected break-up with her boyfriend, her best friend leaving after graduation and the death of her beloved Abuela, Lila’s life is not where she thought it would be.

Slowly, with new friends and a new city, Lila starts to see a different side of life, and maybe change is ok. This is a sweet pick from our list of bakery romance novels.

Chef’s Kiss by T.J. Alexander

Simone is a pastry chef for a culinary magazine, her dream job. Ray is the new kitchen manager who is getting under her skin.

When the magazine decides to venture into YouTube to stay relevant, Simone and Ray get paired together to create a new show. As Simone’s attraction to non-binary Ray starts to grow, she realizes how exclusionary her workplace is for Ray.

I love how Simone challenged her workplace and looked into making her own changes in order to be a good partner for Ray. The ending had me cheering for them both. It’s one of my favorite bakery romance books.

This charming romance is perfect for Halloween! Danica is a witch hiding as a mechanic with her cousin, Clem.

Swearing to her grandmother not to fall in love with a mundane (non-magic man) so as not to lose her power is easier said than done.

Soon, with the help of a charming seaside community and a cute little bakery, she’s back on her feet. Throughout her time in Cornwall, she finds love, a new job, and creates a life she adores. Also, she has a pet puffin named Neil, the cutest literary pet I could imagine.

Why I Like it: Like all of Colgan’s books, the community takes the book to another level. These characters come to life creating a town I wish was real!

Meet Me at The Cupcake Cafe by Jenny Colgan

Cupcake Cafe #1

Warning: reading this book will make you hungry.  I am so not a baker and yet, I was almost inclined to give it a try.  Cupcake Cafe, like more of Colgan’s other books, is a perfectly sweet palate cleanser. 

I am never surprised or disappointed in her books. Even though this is ranked lower in our list of Jenny Colgan books in order, it is still a delightful read.
