Ashley Poston has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Her magical romances are a genre of romance that I cannot get enough of. Poston’s adult romances are the perfect blend of romance with a touch of magic (think stuck in a fictional town, seeing a ghost, or a time loop). These magical elements add a touch of whimsy to the stories and I absolutely love every one of her books. I had a very hard time choosing which was my favorite.

Plot

Eileen decides to go on her own, but her car breaks down and she finds herself inside her favorite fictional town of Eloraton. She has no idea how it happened, but she is inside a fictional town that is in limbo. They are stuck between the author’s previous book and the unfinished last story. When she meets the grumpy bookstore owner, she thinks that he must be part of the last story and she unknowingly starts changing things in the town.
Why Jackie loves it
Ashely Poston’s books are so original and this one was no exception. I love the idea of a romance story within a story. The book is magical without seeming impossible. It was delightful and difficult to put down #gifted

Plot
Joni Lark is a hit songwriter in LA who has had writer’s block for the last 10 months, since her mom’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis. She is returning home, to North Carolina, for the summer and hopes to find inspiration.
When she arrives, she realizes that if she wants to cure her writer’s block, she might have to confront the things she has been avoiding while living in LA. To make matters more complicated, she has an earworm of a half-formed song in her head and the voice of a stranger in there as well. Joni is shocked to learn the voice belongs to a real person–someone named Sasha. They agree to finish the song that is haunting both their thoughts, but in doing so, they realize there might be more than just the song bringing them together.

Ashley Poston has become a must-read author for me. Her stories are so unique and I love that there is a touch of magic in each one. I loved the connection between Joni and Sasha. It felt like these two complemented each other so well and communicated- (telepathy makes that a must). Poston’s romances lie somewhere between sweet and steamy.

Dead Romantics (GMA Book Club Pick July 2022) was one of my favorite books last year and this book did not disappoint! This is such an adorable time travel romance book. And if you are not a fantasy lover this is the perfect one to blur the lines between genres. The story is so unique and refreshing,

When her new editor will not give her an extension on her deadline, she is in a panic and is on the verge of losing her career. Now, the unthinkable has happened. Her beloved father has died and she must return home to bury him. When she sees the ghost of her editor outside the funeral parlor, she cannot understand why he is there with her, and her life is turned upside down.
Why Jackie loves it
This book was a complete delight to read from the very first page. If you are looking for a book for fall, I love this adorable adult fantasy romance book that is totally unique. It reminds me a little of the 2005 movie starring Reese Witherspoon.
