Harper St. George Books in Order

Harper St. George is one of my favorite historical romance novelists because she writes about the Gilded Age – which fills my Downton Abbey and Gilded Age-loving heart. She has written many other books besides the series I love, so I wanted to provide a list of Harper St. George books in order.

Harper St. George Books in order

Like many people, I was exposed to Harper St. George’s novels after Book of the Month picked THe Heiress Gets a Duke as a book club pick. The story caught my eye because I knew of the upcoming Julian Fellowes’s series, The Gilded Age and I was on the hunt for Gilded Age books.

I knew she had written two Gilded Age series set in England, but I had no idea that she had written some set in America and also that she wrote Viking romances!

In clearing up her English Gilded Age historical romance series order, I decided to also list her previous works in case you wanted to delve into her backlist.

When one night isn’t enough, she proposes a new bargain—one that could bring them together or destroy them both.

While this wasn’t my favorite of Harper St. George’s books, I did still find it entertaining. It REALLY got me excited to read the next book in the series about Eliza’s sister, Jenny.

Taking place in the Gilded Age ballrooms of London, this new historical romance series is filled with steamy scenese and the fun exploits of the upper crust. When American heiress, August Crenshaw heads to England at her parent’s insistence, she is reluctant to allow them to force her younger sister to marry unless she’s in love. Meanwhile, Evan, the Duke of Rothschild needs to marry an American heiress to get her dowry to help restore his estates to their former glory, so he very much wants to be in the running for her little sister’s hand.

Like most of the rest of the world, I binged Netflix’s Bridgertons on Christmas Day. The regency romantic drama ended and I needed more! I immediately turned to this book to fill my need for a historical romance. It was steamy and funny and I think I have a new favorite historical romance series!

Max, the heir to the Crenshaw fortune, is being forced to marry or risk his sister’s newest project. He decided to enter into a fake engagement with Lady Helena that turns into a lust-fueled relationship.

The third book in the historical romance series that is giving me the gilded age book vibes I’ve been craving since watching the new HBO series. I loved the push-and-pull of their hearts and heads. We all know where this historical romance novel is ending, but the journey was oh-so-good.

I was most impressed with how this story tackles the emotional abuse Camille suffered at the hands of her deceased husband. To have the impact that kind of suffering has on intimate relationships acknowledged in such a tender way made this story so much more than a historical romance.

Domestic Violence

I’ve loved Camille as a side character throughout the series and was delighted to see that in The Duchess Takes a Husband she gets her own HEA. Jacob is her perfect match for sure. I flew through this story, cheering for Camille’s growth and strength throughout. I can’t wait to read about the Dove sisters’ season next!

Guide to Harper St. George’s Doves of New York Series

After the Crenshaw sibling’s story wrapped up, St. George turned her attention to the Dove sisters from New York. This trio of sisters are illegitimate – born to the mistress of their wealthy American father, but they have been given the opportunity to earn an inheritance by marrying into the English gentry.

To gain access to her dowry and escape the New York gossip about her legitimacy, Cora Dove decides to head to England in search of a husband. There she collides – literally – with the Earl of Devonworth and the two strike up a bargain.

Marriage for a few years will help Cora secure her dowry and launch her sisters into society, for Leo, it means acquiring the desperately needed funds to help his political causes. But their attraction means this platonic marriage could be doomed from the start.

Leo and Cora positively sizzled in this book, the first in a new Gilded Age series from Harper St. George. Their STEAMY romance was rooted first in friendship, which I always enjoy in a romance novel. It was also fun to see some of my favorite characters return from St. George’s previous novels.
