The 2024 Adult Summer Reading Challenge is here!!! Like our annual reading challenge, Summer Reading Bingo has become a tradition around here. So, Jackie and I have decided to bring it back once again.

Just like in previous years, we will be playing on Instagram! Don’t want to play along? You can skip over to the beach hub to see all our past summer and beach reading lists!

Summer Reading Bingo Rules

To participate in the Summer Reading Challenge, you will need to screenshot the bingo board over on Instagram or sign up below to have it emailed directly to you.

When you upload the post to stories, simply add an image of the book you read over the prompt. Be sure to tag us to enter the drawing for the prizes!

What are the prizes you might be asking? Well if you get a standard bingo (1 line, any direction), you will be entered to win $25 to Bookshop.org. If you fill the entire board, you are eligible to win the jackpot prize – $100 to Bookshop.org.

I realize that reading 24 books between Memorial Day and Labor Day is a little bit of a stretch, so Summer Reading Bingo starts on May 1! If you are crafty, your book choices might be able to fill more than one box, but no more than 2!

Follow us, tag, and enter your completed board before September 2. But you can feel free to tag @beyondthebookends as you fill-in the books along the way. I’m looking forward to sharing everyone’s Bingo boards all summer long!

The contest is open to USA participants only. The contest ends at 11:59 pm on September 2nd. The winner will be chosen by an online giveaway picker and notified via direct message. The giveaway is not affiliated with Instagram or Bookshop.org.

What Makes the 2024 Summer Reading Challenge Special?

This year, Jackie an I are pleased to partner with Our Closet in Your Neighborhood. Our August reading challenge prompt is to read a book about fashion — the perfect tie-in for this year’s philanthropic partner. With this partnership, we hope to expand your reading life and also inspire a feeling of gratitude and giving.

Since the prompt is also part of our year-long Reading Challenge, Beyond the Bookends will be hosting an in-person event and virtual giving opportunity to raise funds all summer long. We truly hope this partnership inspires you to give back to the community.
